Dee Parrott was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She is undergoing very aggressive chemotherapy and she is having a tough time. Dee was working in their yard and fell and hit her head. Upon going to the doctor they did scans for her head and found a spot on her pancreas. She was told that it was early stages and probably stage 1 pancreatic cancer. She was scheduled for surgery but once the doctors got in there, they realized it was much worse than they thought and she was in fact actually stage 4. Dee is an amazingly sweet woman. She has a wonderful husband, awesome children and the most adorable grandchildren you will ever meet. She has such a kind nature and a huge heart. She is tough for sure but she needs all the help she can get. Chemo has taken a toll on her not only physically but financially. There is a GoFundMe set up for her to help with her medical costs. There is also a home run derby being set up and tentatively scheduled to take place on Feb. 8, 2020 in Pike County. Details are coming soon and you can reach out to Amber Shoemake or Rachel McDaniel at the Pike County Journal Reporter for more information on that. T-shirt sale proceeds will go directly to the Parrott family. All orders placed before Jan 31, 2020 will be ready and available for pick up at the home run derby. All orders placed after the 31st will be available at a later date. Lets all rally around this wonderful woman and show her how much she is loved and supported throughout this storm in her life. She deserves the world and more so lets help ease some of the burden on her and her family!
